Health Education Associates, Inc., a sister company of the Healthy Children Project, now offers both an English and Spanish version of a new evidence-based continuing education module for convenient learning at home. The new module, titled “Capture the Moment: Worldwide Report on Early Initiation of Breastfeeding,” is based on the UNICEF publication by the same name and takes an in-depth look at how countries around the world are implementing early initiation of breastfeeding, a powerful line of defense in the first hours and days after birth.
Through the module, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the state of breastfeeding globally as well as the latest recommendations of the WHO/UNICEF on how to improve early initiation rates worldwide to give babies the best start in life, including uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact between mothers and infants, breastfeeding as soon as possible after birth within the first hour after delivery, and practical support. The credits for the 100% online modules are as follows: 2 contact hours for RNs and CLCs; 2.0L CERPs for IBCLCs; and 2 CPEs for RDs. To purchase the English version of the new module, click here. The Spanish version is available here. All participants will receive a certificate after successful completion.
